Video compression may not be installed in Windows 95/98.

To install video compression in Windows 95/98, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  3. Click the Windows Setup tab.

  4. Click Multimedia, and then click Details.

  5. Click the Video Compression check box to select it, and then click OK.

  6. Click OK, and then close Control Panel.

NOTE: If the video clip you want to play was not compressed with compression software that is compatible with the compression software included with Windows 95/98, the resolution described above may not resolve the problem. To play a video clip that was compressed with third-party compression software, contact the manufacturer of the compression software to obtain the software necessary to decompress the file.
